February 2022
Announcing the Shell/ter Artist collective with Diana
Copperwhite, Allyson Keehan, Niamh McGuinne, Sharon Murphy and Geraldine O’Neill.
The concept of Shelter, as a focus, was developed by a collective of five artists who work across a range of forms including painting, installation, print and lens-based art. The collective developed organically in 2020 during the pandemic, initially through shared dialogue about the effects, personal and professional, of a shifting and unpredictable world. This gradually centred on ideas and experiences which could be encapsulated in one word Shelter. The purpose of forming was to explore, enrich, support and diversify, providing a form of shelter in itself. We plan to make work and exhibit collectively under the rubric of Shelter in tandem with our own distinctive practices.
